Like games? Like hard games? How about really frickin’ hard games where just about everything you do will cause you to die? Then I have just the game for you today.
I Want to be the Guy! is a game hat pays homage to the old 2-D platforming style of video games, with a unique difficulty that will drive you insane. Offering save points along the way was a must, but just getting to one of those save points itself will prove much more difficult than you would believe.
From the game’s web site ;
I Wanna Be The Guy: The Movie: The Game is a sardonic loveletter to the halcyon days of early American videogaming, packaged as a nail-rippingly difficult platform adventure. Players fill the role of The Kid, a youthful, vaguely Megaman-esque protagonist on a quest to become The Guy. This inscrutable plot, however, is just a vehicle for a wide variety of inventive, well-designed and frustrating jump-and-shoot challenges that pay homage to many of the games you loved as a child. The ever-fragile Kid explodes in a shower of red pixels at the slightest brush from the game’s many obstacles, from traditional spikes and bottomless pits to more unconventional killers, such as plantlife and puzzle pieces.
You’re probably sitting there thinking “How hard could it really be” or “They couldn’t possibly make death possible at every turn” right? Wrong.
Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
And you thought Mike Tyson was tough enough before, didn’t you?
Go ahead. Give it a shot if you think you have what it takes to be the guy! Leave a comment to say how well you did, or didn’t do!

So here we are on January 7. How are you doing on your New Years resolutions? Did you make any or was your resolution to make resolutions? The good news is, if you want to make new years resolutions it’s never too late.
Many people scoff at the idea of resolutions and there is a saying that the best resolution is to forget about resolutions. I admit the premise is kind of strange. Why people feel the need to change themselves when the calendar changes years makes sense in theory (new year, new you) but there has to be a way to keep track and monitor those resolutions. How do you track them? How will you stick to your resolutions? For some it may be best to report back on your progress once a month.
Write down your resolutions, or type them up in a computer file, and keep it somewhere safe. Take them to heart and think about your strategies for fulfilling your resolutions. It may take time to make some resolutions a habit. At some given time I will call on you to check your resolutions in an attempt to remind you about them. Let’s face it, many people forget about resolutions past January, right?
Popular resolutions include;
- Lose weight (get in shape)
- Quit smoking
- Save more money
- Eat healthier
- Quit drinking
- Get more organized
- Stay in contact with family and friends better
- Be a nicer person
- Learn a new language
What are some of your resolutions for 2009? I am asking for your’s so I will share some of mine as it pertains to this site. Below are some of my resolutions for this blog in 2009…
- Achieve a better design and layout
- Provide higher quality posts
- Build a community and readership
- Continue to learn new techniques and implement them
Consider this a belated happy new year to you and thank you for the positive response from yesterday’s post , which quickly became the featured post on Today.com ’s Philadelphia regional homepage .

I can not imagine what it must be like to be missing a dog, which is why I want to share this site with you. I found it through one of my Facebook friends and feel it important to do what I can to spread the word.
Visit Help Find Rocky for the latest on the search for a missing Australian Cattle Dog in the Falls Church, Virginia area. The dog has been missing since escaping his walker on January 3, 2009. The blog that has been set up is the virtual headquarters for reporting sightings of the runaway dog and provides updates on the reported sightings, search party plans, and more. You can even print out a flyer to post wherever you can.
If you are a Twitter user you can also follow the search by following @helpfindrocky .
I doubt that Rocky has made his way up to my area, but I will be following this dog search and hoping for the best!

I saw this on CNET the other day and just had to share it with you!
If you are looking for a way to kill some time why not play a game of Pong right inside your web browser? To play Window Pong you will need to have your ad-blocker turned off. Don’t worry, you can turn it back on when you are finished playing!
The game uses a set of pop up windows for the two paddles, ball, and the score. You use your mouse to control your paddle while the computer controls the opposing paddle. If you get tired of Pong then try out Snake , developed by the same programmers. I have yet to play Snake so I can not attest to the fun factor.

When will somebody put together a pop-up version of Super Mario Brothers? That is when I will be impressed!
What interesting web games do you like to play? Feel free to share them in the comments section of this post!

This post is inspired by something stupid I just did this morning; scraping ice off of my wife’s car before she left for work without gloves.
While it is by no means stupid to do something nice for your wife in the morning as she gets ready for work and your unemployed butt prepares to sit at home in the warm weather all morning, it is pretty dumb to go out in 24 degree weather and remove ice from a car without gloves. Why would somebody do such a thing? In fact as I type this post up my hand is still a little cold! It’s not as though I don’t own a pair of gloves (in fact I own two pairs) but I do recommend you take a moment today and check your gloves.
Do your gloves have holes? Are they worn out? Are they still comfortable (and warm)? If not you should probably make a quick trip to your store of choice and browse the gloves. After all, not everybody has hands that like the cold.

So sorry about missing a post yesterday folks. I had a pretty productive day cleaning the apartment and more specifically the kitchen and that is what has inspired me for today’s suggestion.
Before you start baking holiday cookies by the dozens or maybe your special bread recipe or perhaps a nice cake or pie, you may want to give your kitchen a good scrubbing! You may clean up after you cook something in the kitchen but when was the last time you cleared the counter of the spice rack, coffee machine, fruit bowl, cutting board and whatever else you may find in your kitchen in order to clean it? Odds are you may not do it enough. Right?
With the holidays comes the traditional cooking of delicious treats. Wouldn’t those treats be more tasty with the comfort of knowing they came from a spic and span kitchen? Eliminate the dirt and bacteria today! you will be glad you did.

As today is Black Friday and stores open up early and thrifty deal searching shoppers line up at midnight, I decided to publish post at 3am!
By the time most of you read this the madness that is associated with Black Friday will likely be over with. Many stores offer their best deals before the sun rises and while every item will not sell out, the great price being offered may expire at 9am or 10 am etc. To some Black Friday is a huge deal, something that gets planned out after Thanksgiving dinner is settling in stomachs. Game plans are formed at the dinner table after a slice of pumpkin pie and family members plan out their strategies.
Some people come equipped with hand-held radios, although cell phones work almost as well. Many people bring the newspaper flyer with them, having already circled exactly what they want from each store. Some families split up and attack multiple stores or locations at the same time.
What is the hot item this year? What did everyone be line up for at Toys R Us or Best Buy? Or do you go out later in the morning or afternoon when the dust settles a little bit? Share your Black Friday experience in the comments section.

Today is Thanksgiving so my advice to you is plain and simple; Eat until your belt seems too tight and watch football as much as possible.
The Detroit Lions have a long history of playing on Thanksgiving and this year will be no different when they welcome the Tennessee Titans to their place for Thanksgiving. If this game were played on paper the Titans would win this one without blinking, but the Lions usually find a way to make these special games worth watching.
After that the Dallas Cowboys will host the Seattle Seahawks. In the prime time game the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Arizona Cardinals in a game that will absolutely go overboard on “bird” references and jokes between eagles, cardinals and turkey.
There is also college football to whet your appetite with Texas and Texas A&M in a Lonestar state rivalry. Check your local listings for all game times.
As for the food, stuff yourself silly with turkey, stuffing, carrots, mashed and/or sweet potatoes, casseroles, crescent rolls or whatever else finds a home on the dinner table.
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and to all a good night!

Tonight is one of the biggest nights to go out, hit the bar scene, and meet up and catch up with old friends. On Thanksgiving Eve I suggest you go out to the old hang out and find out what your old friends have been up to.
Some high schools are playing Thanksgiving games tonight, providing old high school class mates a great opportunity to get together. Head to your old school, root for your team with your friends, and then head out to have a drink or a meal with your buddies. Find out what they have been up to since you last hung out. Find out where things are heading. Exchange e-mail addresses (or real addresses) and phone numbers. Don’t let tonight be a one time thing - use tonight as a chance to ensure you keep in touch with your old friends!
Whatever you end up doing folks, be safe out there!

Tonight at 8pm ABC will be airing A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving , so be sure to put that on your to do list or set your DVR or VCR!
Peppermint Patty invites herself and her friends over to Charlie Brown’s for Thanksgiving, and with Linus, Snoopy, and Woodstock, he attempts to throw together a Thanksgiving dinner. Poor old wishy-washy Charlie Brown can’t cook though unless it is cold cereal, and he is bound to pour too much milk to make that breakfast soggy! What a blockhead!
After the half hour classic special airs ABC will air This is America Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers, an educational half hour special in which the Peanuts cast tells the story of the first settlers in America.
If you miss tonight’s airing ABC will also broadcast the Thanksgiving specials again on Thanksgiving night.
